About HealthyEatsNearMe

HealthyEatsNearMe tracks calories and macros for restaurant menus across the US. Figures come from a restaurant’s own published nutrition document where one exists, and are clearly labeled as menu-derived estimates where it does not.

We believe you shouldn't have to guess your macros when dining out. Our mission is to make finding healthy, high-protein restaurant meals completely effortless.

Whether you're tracking calories, looking for a post-workout high-protein meal, or adhering to dietary restrictions like gluten-free, dining out usually means flying blind. We're building a database of healthy restaurant meals with transparent macro breakdowns, labeling where each meal's numbers come from wherever that information is available.

How We Source Our Data

Our database includes official restaurant figures and menu-derived estimates. Source details and review dates are shown where available; missing attribution must not be taken as proof of verification:

  • Chain Restaurants: Where a chain publishes an official nutrition guide, we compile macros from that document, chain by chain.
  • Independent Eateries: For local spots that don't publish exact macros, we estimate them from the published menu and ingredients using standard nutrition references. These are labeled as estimates, not official restaurant-published figures.
  • Unavailable Data: Some entries lack source details or a review date. Do not treat those figures as official or recently reviewed; confirm them with the restaurant.

Because many figures are estimates, and recipes, portions, and preparation vary by location, treat every number as a guide and confirm with the restaurant directly if you're targeting a precise macro window.

What Makes a Meal "Healthy"?

"Healthy" means different things to different people. That's why we focus on transparency rather than labels. However, for our curated categories, we use the following baselines:

  • High Protein: The meal contains at least 30g of protein, with many of our top recommendations exceeding 40g or 50g.
  • Low Calorie: Complete meals under 500 calories, prioritizing volume and nutrient density.
  • Macro-Friendly: Balanced meals with a solid protein-to-calorie ratio, keeping excessive fats and added sugars in check.

Editorial Standards & Updates

Source attribution and review dates are not complete across the catalog. A guide update date refers to the guide itself, not certification of every nutrition value. Weekly selections rotate automatically and do not mean the underlying data was reviewed that week. Check the cited source where available, and contact us if you spot a discrepancy.

Important Disclaimer

All nutritional information provided is for general guidance. Restaurant portion sizes vary, recipes change, and food preparation isn't an exact science. Cross-contact with allergens or gluten is possible in any restaurant kitchen, and we can't guarantee any dish is safe for a specific allergy or condition. Note that celiac disease is an autoimmune condition triggered by gluten, not a food allergy — if you have a food allergy, celiac disease, or another dietary condition, verify ingredients and preparation directly with the restaurant staff before ordering.
